Raymond Sargent

Raymond L. Sargent, 84, passed away from cancer on August 20, 2010. Raymond was born March 19, 1926 in Glendale, California to Ernest and Allene Sargent. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as SSGT from the U.S. Army. He worked 10 years for the North Kansas City Police Department Reserve and 17 years as lieutenant at KU Medical Center Police Department. He also worked part-time for 13 years at Mid Continent Library. Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Michael Sargent; his parents and two sisters, Doris and Betty. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth L. Sargent; two daughters, Dodie Finnell (Steve) and Kathy Heldstab (Bill); three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday August 24 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park; with visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 23 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors at Mount Moriah Terrace Park.
