Raymond L. Saale passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Dec. 27 at Liberty Hospital. He was born in Chillicothe, MO on Dec. 17, 1933 to Edward J. and Mary Lou Saale who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Saale. Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Saale; children Dana Saale Daly, (Daniel) and Jeffrey L. Saale; granddaughters Brittany and Haley; Aunts Eloise Barnes, Rita Moling, Patricia Clonan and numerous cousins.
Ray served in the U.S. Army and later attended UMKC and was president of his fraternity. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and retired Dec., 1989 as Area Mgr. of Stations/Branches. Throughout life he was an avid fan of Mizzou, Notre Dame, K.C. Royals and Chiefs. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball, coaching/umpiring little league games, and bird hunting with his son.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th St, at 10:30am, Sat., Jan. 3; visitation one hour prior to service. Contributions to Heart Association, Humane Society or St. Columbans Church, Chillicothe, MO.
