Raymond L. "Dick" Hoffman, 90, of Liberty MO passed away December 2, 2013 at Northcare Hospice House. He was an honored Veteran of WWII in the US NAVY, and loved the sea. Dick was born February 12, 1923 in Syracuse, Kansas. He was one of the charter members of the Grace Episcopal Church. He was a Lay Reader, served on the Bishop's Committee, served as Senior Warden, and sang in the choir. He was a life member of the Ararat Shrine Temple and a chanter. He had a passion for dancing and was an avid ballroom and swing dancer. Dick was a people person and very involved in many activities in life. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lucille Hoffman and nephew Jerry Allen. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Virginia Hoffman, sons Richard L. Hoffman and wife Ruth Ann of Lee's Summit, MO and Daniel Hoffman and wife Nancy of Simi Valley, CA, and daughter Brenda Huelskamp and husband Charlie of Kansas City, MO; Five grandchildren Christopher Hoffman, Leslie Robb, Jennifer Berger, Brad Berger, and Brian Hoffman; Ten great grandchildren, Austin, Brynna, Izabella, Derek, Makena, Brody, Jayden, Zaylee, Faith, and Julianna; Sister Nathalie Means of Lee's Summit, MO; and two nephews Lonny Allen of Osage Beach, MO. and Jack Allen of Leawood, Kansas. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Northcare Hospice for their care of Dick. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 7, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church 520 S. 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068.
