Ralph was born in Excelsior Springs, MO in 1943 and will be remembered for his 50 plus years of dedication to the grocery store business where he collected life stories and made the best of friends. Ralph was a lifelong golf enthusiast and spent his retirement days giving out advice at the Kearney golf course. An avid fan of MU, Ralph had an entire room of his home dedicated to sports memorabilia, and never missed a game on TV. One of his last requests was “don’t let them put a KU golf ball in my casket”.
Ralph is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 48 years Linda “Pee-Wee” Tackett, his three children Jeff Tackett, Angela and her husband Mark Verhulst, Leisa and her husband John Westhoff, six talented grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Andrew, Aiden, Anderson and princess Allison and his four-legged companions, Rocky and Gracie.
