Ralph Dale Alley, 100, passed away, Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Strafford Care Center, in Strafford, Missouri. He was born May 20, 1917, in Ludlow, Missouri to the late Ralph and Hallie (Chapman) Alley.
Dale graduated from high school in Ludlow, MO and from the Midland Radio School in Kansas City. During the WW 2 he taught at the Midland Army Radio school and was a radio operator, in the Air Transport Command, flying as a TWA employee. Dale and his wife, Lois, were married on August 4, 1938. Lois died April 3, 2017. They had a son, Gary, who lives in the Springfield area, and a daughter, Shirley, who died in 2011 at the age of 71. They had six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Dale lived in Washington DC, Greensboro, NC and Albuquerque, NM. The major portion of their time was spent in their homes in Kansas City, MO. Dale was an Air Traffic Controller at the Kansas City Downtown Airport. Dale and Lois enjoyed traveling with their friends in the Airstream trailer club. After Dale retired from the FAA, they spent many winters in either, Florida, Texas or Arizona. They have traveled to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. They enjoyed their time traveling and seeing much of North America.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 10 AM until time of Service at 11 AM at Terrace Park's Lakeside Chapel, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO. Interment will be private in Terrace Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers remember Dale Alley to the charity of your choice.
