Quentin Blair Piepergerdes

Kansas City

 

Quentin Blair Piepergerdes of Kansas City, Missouri, passed November 7, 2023, at the age of 83.  Blair was born August 1, 1940, in Independence, Missouri to Quentin Casper Piepergerdes and Mae Louise Gibson (Sample).  Also influential in his life was his stepfather, Howard Uel Gibson.

 

After graduating from Lafayette High School in Saint Joseph, Missouri, Blair served in the United States Army; active duty as well as the reserves.  His greatest joy was spending time with his dear wife, Normal, of nineteen years, and their cats; Molly and Tucker.  He cherished his family and friends, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and was an ardent sports fan.  He will be remembered as loving and kind, and will be greatly missed. 

 

Blair was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Normal Lou Piepergerdes, sister Phyllis Kathleen Moore, and grandson Brian Chae-Gun Piepergerdes.

 

He is survived by his children Kyle Piepergerdes, Todd (Lora) Piepergerdes, Chandra (Mark) Wendling, Brian (Bekah) Piepergerdes, and Mike (Maria) Piepergerdes, as well as grandchildren Lisa, Tyler, Mac, Mary, Gabe, Seth, Paul, Alec, Levi and Ezra, and great-granddaughter Alyx.

 

A private family service with military honors will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care at www.kchospice.org
