Philip Anthony Sterk

Philip Anthony Sterk, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully on July 4, 2023.

Phil was born on August 26, 1943 in Denver, Colorado to Frank and Cecilia Sterk. Following high school, Phil continued his education at Rockhurst College.

Phil worked at Dazey Corp, then later for Harcros Chemical Company as a credit manager until his retirement.

In his spare time, he enjoyed running, playing golf, and watching sports - particularly the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and KU Jayhawks. He was a proud member of the Red Coaters Club since 1971. Phil was also a longtime supporter of the Community Blood Center, where he was a member of the Gallons Club,  having donated 30 gallons.

He loved ice cream and Waltz's Favorite +6 from Red Lobster (any time it was available).

Phil was a member of the Knights of Columbus and received the honor of Fourth Degree.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents and son, Eric Michael Sterk. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his sisters, Dorothy Day Samson and Mary Van Sloun; his loving neices, Lisa Crump and Kristin Wickstrom (Brian); nephew, Doug Van Sloun (Dawn) and many extended family and friends.

Phil will be aid to rest at Terrace Park Cemetery.
