Perry A. Doyle Sr., 98, of Smithville, MO died at Golden Living in Smithville on Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was born February 22, 1918 in Kansas City, KS to the late James Henry and Maggie Mae (Huddleston) Doyle.
Perry was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he and Ruth were married 78 years, he served in the Army during WWII, was a founding member of Community Covenant Church in Kearney, MO. He drove a cement truck for years but always loved farming. Upon his retirement, he and Ruth traveled the United States, spending many winters in Arizona.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth Doyle, son Perry A. Doyle Jr., daughter-in-law Ernestine Miller; grandchildren Patrick and Sean Doyle; great-grandson Ryan Doyle, step-grandchildren, Stacia Freeman and Raphael (Carol) Freeman Sr.; step-great-grandchildren Chris Pearson, Raphael Freeman Jr. and Jasmin Freeman.
In addition to his parents Perry is preceded in death by 7 siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 11-12 PM; with the funeral at 12 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment with military honors will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice 3516 Summit St, Kansas City, MO 64111.
