Penny Pate

Penny Ellen Pate, 56, of Kansas City, Mo, passed away April 21, 2021.  A memorial service and interment will take place at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery at a date in the future to be announced.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

Penny was born on September 28, 1964 in North Kansas City, Missouri and was a lifelong Kansas City resident.  She worked in various roles in emergency health care and in childcare throughout her life and, being strong in her faith, had been very active in church.  Penny enjoyed scrapbooking and crafting, loved animals and her family dearly, and was a dedicated and giving grandma.

Penny was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Burns, in infancy, and by her mother, Dorothy Young.  She is survived by her three children:  Brianna (Sean) Clemmons, Kelsey (Justin) Mowery, and Caleb (Ashley) Pate; grandchildren:  Allyson and Olivia Clemmons, Hailey, Lincoln, and Titus Mowery, and one grandbaby Pate on the way; her father, James R. Young; siblings:  Pam (Mike) Mark, Jeff (Mary) Burns, Mike (Pam) Burns, and Sondra (Blake) Groves; an enormous extended family; and her lifelong friend, Lisi Curiale.

Penny was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
