Patricia Salsig

Patricia Clay Salsig, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away, Monday, October 2, 2017, at Liberty Hospital.  Patty was born September 9, 1941, to Julias and Violet (Greenstreet) Shaw, in Kansas City, Missouri. She met the love of her life at a stop light in North Kansas City, Missouri and on September 16, 1961 she married George Salsig. Patty enjoyed traveling with her family and especially enjoyed getting her family together for the holidays. Some of Granny’s (as she was known to the grandchildren), most cherished time was spent on the floor playing with the grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed crosswords in her spare time. She will always be remembered as a caring soul who always had time to help others.

Patty was preceded in death by both her parents, seven sisters; Ruby Iske, Melba Clutter, Julia Lee Petree, Eva Skinner, Margarette Ann Shaw, Shirley Shaw and Marcella Henson.

She is survived by her husband, George, of 56 years, her two children; Thomas (Jodee) Salsig, of Kearney, MO, and Pamela Tapp of Kansas City, MO, two sisters; Glenda Casto and Martha Jean Archer, four grandchildren; Matt, Kenny, Mendi, and Taylor. She also leaves behind 2 great grandchildren Rylynne and Joslynne.

Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2017 from 10:00 AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 11:00 AM at Terrace Park Lakeside Chapel; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to Liberty Hospice. Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
