Patricia Mead

Patricia Ann Mead, 82, of Kansas City, MO passed away on August 24, 2018.

She was born to James and Mary Ann (Svetlecic) DeGhelder on March 15, 1936 in Kansas City, MO. Patricia was a hard worker all her life, spending many years as a homemaker, raising her four children, as well as holding administrative positions with the Kansas City Police Department, IRS, and AT&T. She had many hobbies and pastimes which included watching football, especially "The Red Zone", bowling, solving crossword puzzles, feeding the birds and squirrels, and spending time with her "fur babies". She was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don D. Mead; grandchildren, Morgan Case and Donnie Maxey; brother, Joesph DeGhelder; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved pets.

She is survived by her children; Sandra Mead, Don Mead (Carrie Romage), Leslie Maxey, and James (Wendy) Mead; her granchildren, Johnathan Case, Nicole Floyd, Amanda Maxey, Daryl Maxey, Michelle Mead, and Allison Mead; her six great grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Mastersom.

A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10 AM, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be private. In honor of Patricia's love for animals the family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Wayside Waifs
