Patricia “Patti” Madeline Lucas, 72, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on October 04, 2022. She was born to the late Edward Charles Murray and Marie Marguerite Von Reeden on April 07, 1950. She was a proud graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design, and later married the love of her life, Dennis Lucas.
Growing up, Patti lived in Jacksonville, Florida where she would later move to Sarasota. During her time in Florida, Patti was recruited to Kansas City, Missouri as an artist for Hallmark where she spent over 25 years. She was the first person to create Hallmark cards for minorities. Later in life, Patti became a free-lance illustrator at home, after retiring from Hallmark.
Patti was a singer, guitar player, and a genealogist. She was warrior and a survivor of cancer. She spent a lot of her time singing and playing her guitar at open mics, private parties, weddings, and funerals. She would do them alone or in a duet. Patti loved her life, her country, her husband, family, including her cats, but most of all, the Lord.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother: Gregory Murray.
Survivors include her husband: Dennis; and siblings: Stephen Murray, Mark Murray, and Kathleen Murray; as well as three nephews: Derek Murray, Matthew Murray, and Aaron Murray.
