Visitation will be Friday, November 27, at Avondale Baptist Church (2501, NE 39th St, Kansas City, MO) from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM, with a funeral service immediately following. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery, 801 Northwest 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155.
Pat was born Patricia Ann Brazelton in Kansas City, KS, to Charles and Helen Brazelton on May 4, 1939.
In 1955, Pat met and fell in love with her husband, Terry. Pat and Terry married June 7, 1958, and moved to Windsor, MO, where they welcomed their first daughter in July of 1959. In 1960, the family moved to Colorado and welcomed their second daughter in December of that year.
After 11 years of being a stay-at-home wife and mother, Pat began her career in banking at Commercial Bank in Liberty, MO. She continued in banking, working up to her final position as branch President at Clayco State bank until her retirement in 2000.
After her retirement, Pat joined the Northland Neighborhood Association team before eventually moving on to her role as Activities Director at Avonlea Cottages of Gladstone until her passing.
Pat was an active member of her community. During her life, she was a member of Soroptimist International, the Liberty Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Maple Park Neighborhood Association, ABWA American Business Women’s Association, Chairman of the Liberty Fall Festival, member of VFW Post 5606, Two Wheelers Motorcycle Club, and participated in many civic organizations.
Pat started following Jesus in 1990, while attending the baptism of her daughter and grandchildren at Avondale Baptist Church. Soon after, she became a member of Avondale Baptist church where she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher of young children, nursery worker, and served the church family whom she loved so much.
She was a self-taught, talented seamstress who could be found toiling away on costumes, clothing, and gifts for her grandchildren, church, and community. Sewing brought her joy and was a way to express her love for others.
Pat’s nature was to love and welcome all she came into contact with. People loved Pat, because they felt loved by her.
Pat is survived by her husband, Terry Estes, daughters Teri (Fred) Watson, and Debbie (Steve) Cartwright. She was the beloved grandma to 6 grandchildren: Nikki Jackson, Matt McNally, Jessica Watson, Elaine Jones, Devon Cartwright, Dani Percival, and 9 great-grandchildren who called her Grandma “Grape”. She is also survived by her Sister, Charlene (Terry) Williams, and Brother, Donald (Donna) Brazelton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Avondale Baptist Church, 2501 NE 39th St, Kansas City, MO 64155.
