Ollie Dean James, 91, of Kansas City, Mo passed away December 27, 2014 at Cameron Regional Hospital. Services are 2:00 pm Friday January 2nd at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 169 Hwy & Shoal Creek Pkwy, with visitation preceding services 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Burial in Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or Disabled American Veterans.
Ollie was born April 26, 1923 in Bethany, Mo to William and Elsie P. (Bowen) James. He proudly served in the US Navy for 5 years during World War II and the Korean War. He was a fireman for the Kansas City Mo Fire Department, retiring after 33 years of service, and was a member of the Fireman’s Local Union #42. Ollie was an avid fisherman and hunter who will be missed by all who knew him. He placed great importance on his family, military service and the fire department. One of his greatest pleasures in retirement was enjoying coffee with the boys at Marcy’s. He was the loving husband of the late Fay P. (Haddix) James, who died in 2002, also preceding him were brothers, Harold and Carroll Maxx James, and sister, Irlene Rosella James Walsh. Survivors include his daughter, Leslie James Anchors, and husband, Mike, granddaughter, Courtney Linn Anchors, 4 grandchildren, Layla Nichole Resch, Audrey Rose Resch, Chloe Elise Resch, Ethan Michael Resch and niece, Patricia Walsh Meadows.
