Obert Stevens

Obert T. Stevens, 86, died Monday, May 16, at his Kansas City, Missouri home.  Mr. Stevens was born August 10, 1924 in Norborne, MO, the first born son of Obediah T. Stevens and Mary E. (Hale) Stevens.  He is survived by 3 sons, Mike Stevens, Richard (JoLynn) Stevens, David (Linnca) Stevens, all of Kansas City, MO; one daughter Beth (Joe)Petry of Hillsboro MO; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-granddaughters; one sister Carrie Rodgers of Overland Park, Kansas; and two brothers, Francis (Darlene) Stevens of Liberty, MO and Edward (Judy) Stevens of St. Joseph. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Boggess) Stevens, an infant son, John Robert, and his parents.  He retired from Merck Sharpe & Dohme and has enjoyed farming, reading and traveling. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Friday, May 20 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home with a brief memorial service at 3:00 pm in the chapel.  Internment for family members will follow at 4:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KC Cancer Action, Inc.
