Noel Hugh Dillon, 82, passed away on June 11, 2020. Noel was born and raised in Independence, Missouri where delivered papers and befriended Harry S. Truman. He left home to join the United States Army, where he served for three years. This was during the Cuban Missile Crisis and he was attached to an airborne unit. Soon after he left the military he began working as an engineer for IBM. He was a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY from 1971 to 1996 while working for IBM Poughkeepsie. While working for IBM, he founded a construction company called J & T Builders, which built many houses in the Hudson Valley in the 1980’s and 1990’s. He retired from IBM in 1996 as an Executive in the IBM Corporation Headquarters. After retiring from IBM he moved back to his hometown of Kansas City, but spend his winters with friends and family in San Benito, Texas. Noel enjoyed flying planes and travelling, especially spending much if his time on the beaches of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Todd (Jenna) Dillion and Julie (Carlo) Viscusi; grandchildren, Travis Silvernail, Sarah Silvernail and step-grandchildren, Anthony Viscusi and Nicholas Viscusi. He also leaves his brother, James (Shirley) Dillon; his niece and nephew, David and Carla Scott and their son, wife and 3 children and many extended family members and friends.
