Nettigene N. Francis Linder

January 7, 1927 — July 20, 2013

1927 - 2013   Nettigene (Gene) N. Francis Linder, a long time resident of the Parkville area, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Presbyterian Manor in Fulton, Missouri.  She was born January 07, 1927, in Anniston, AL, the daughter of  George B. and Nettie (Brown) Norton.   She married Hopkins T. Francis III  on December 29, 1949 in Anniston, AL.  They lived in a number of states during his active service in the Navy, settling in the Parkville are in 1960, where she became and active member of the Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church.She was a bank teller for the former Parkville Bank, and was known for her warm and friendly manner.   She served her church as a Deacon. She loved to dance, and was a member of the Wheelers and Dealers Square Dance Club.  She was preceded her in death by Hopkins T. Francis, and by Emmett C. Linder,  whom she married on August 23, 1994, in Eureka Springs, AR. She is survived by her daughter, Harriet Francis and husband Jeff of Columbia, MO; her sister, Mayme Ruth Coleman of Birmingham, AL; a niece, Linda Coleman of Birmingham, AL; two step-daughters, Marcia Leo and husband Ron of Parkville, MO, and Karen Waterland and husband Ken of Columbia, MO;  three step-grandchildren and two step-great granddaughters. The family would like to their grateful appreciation to the nurses and staff at the Fulton Presbyterian Manor and Hospice Advantage of Central Missouri for the wonderful care and support given to Nettigene and her family. A memorial service celebrating Nettigene's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jim Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Inurnment will be at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park in Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Organization, Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, or the Missouri Union Presbytery Disaster Assistance Team.
