Nereida Rivera passed away on October 06, 2021 in Syracuse, New York. She was born to the late Don Flor Brown and the late Felicity Fontanes on January 01, 1947.
FREE SPIRIT
“The definition of a free spirit is someone who lives by their own wishes and is unconstrained by society, an Independent or uninhibited person. She says what she means and is gentle and strong. She is spirited and free.”
Nereida was a free spirit. Everyone called her “Mamita” or “Minin.” Mamita was a loving mother and grandmother. She had an infectious laugh and smile. She had the best sense of humor. She touched so many people with her generosity and kindness. Mamita was beautiful inside and out. She had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She was a strong and independent woman. Mamita will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Nereida is survived by 5 children: Milford (Kerry) Morgan; Judith (Nestor) Elias; Lili (Kenny) Robertson; David Morgan; and Annette (Dustin) Reece. 11 grandchildren: Martin, Taylor, Darien, Katie, Nina, Jordyn, Ashton, Emily, Isabella, Bryson, and Melah. 4 great grandchildren: Rexford, Jedha, Robby, and Royce; one sister: Maria Hernandez Brown; two nephews: Louis Santiago and Joel Santiago; niece: Lucy Brown Pacheco; as well as numerous family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to purchase a tree in the honor of Mamita’s loving memory.
Services will be held at the Lakeside Chapel at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 801 N.W. 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64155. Visitation will be on Friday, October 22 from 12-1:30pm with a service at 1:30pm. Burial will take place at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery following the service.
