Naomi Doss

Naomi Jane Doss , 95, passed away Saturday, 12/21/24. Naomi was born in Flat River, Missouri on August 21, 1929 to Oda and Drusilla McHenry Williams.

She graduated from Flat River High School in 1947. She then attended Central Methodist University at Fayette Missouri and graduated in 1951 with a B.S degree in High School English. While at Fayette, she met James Robert Doss and they were married Dec. 27, 1950 .After both graduated from the University, they moved to Plate City, Mo. where they taught briefly in the local high school. Their next and final move was to Kansas City where Naomi found her greatest joy in life as being a wife, mother and grandmother and then great-grandmother. She did continue in the North Kansas City School district, as a substitute teacher. After her sons left for their college she worked 10 years at the Maple Park Middle School. Naomi was a charter member of the Meadowbrook United Methodist Church now Good Shepherd U Methodist Church, Gladstone Campus. She taught Sunday school classes, served in many leadership positions and was an active member for over 62 years. Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, son Gary Doss, her parents and brother, LeRoy Williams. She is survived by her son, David (Pennie) of DesMoines Iowa and daughter in-law Myra Doss Kansas City. Grandchildren, Jennifer Doss, Christina Adams Brown (Nathan) ;Evan Doss (Rachel), Chandra Doss, Kendra Doss, Nathan Doss (Lizzie) and Kylie Reddekopp (Timothy). Also her 8 great grandchildren Samantha, Eli, and Mia Adams Brown, Taylor and Carter Doss., Selah and Isaac Reddekopp, Nazareth Doss.
