Nancy A. Miller, 72, of Kearney, Missouri passed away October 22, 2017 in Fletcher, OK.
Nancy was born October 18, 1945 to George and Elsie Kvaternik in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1963 and then attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City earning a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She married Craig Miller February 3, 1967 and they moved to Akron, Ohio and then Fort Myers, Florida. Nancy taught in elementary schools in both cities. When they moved back to the Kansas City area, she and Craig began Sun Point Nursery. When the nursery closed, Nancy began working with adults with developmental disabilities. She worked for Concerned Care, the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of Clay County as Executive Administrator and finally Immacolata Manor in Liberty, Missouri as Executive Director. She earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Non Profits at UMKC’s Bloch School of Business. Shortly thereafter she retired due to debilitating arthritis. In retirement years she and Craig enjoyed selling on-line.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Craig.
She leaves her son, Christopher; daughter, Julie (Adam) and grandchildren.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Immacolata Manor in Liberty, MO or Mount Olivet Christian Church in Smithville, MO.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM with services beginning at 11 AM, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Mount Olivet Christian Church, 13120 Mt. Olivet Rd., Smithville, MO 64089. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery.
