Nancy Sharon Ayers, 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2022. She was born to the late Devere “Murph” Radke and Lavaun (Wells) Radke-Postier on November 20, 1943, in Rochester, MN. She was married on August 3, 1963, to the love of her life, William “Bill” C. Ayers for almost 56 years upon his death in 2019.
Nancy was a faithful woman of Christ. She was a member of North Cross Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO.
She helped others by volunteering at the Alzheimer’s support group and The Good Shepherd’s Center after Bill’s death. She spent many days lending an ear to those in need of support.
Nancy enjoyed shopping and looking for great deals, enjoying an occasional glass of wine with friends and family while relaxing outside on the deck. She was a wonderful cook and was a pro at throwing a last-minute meal together. Her “Apple Dapple” cake was so good it always came in handy when she needed a favor. She will be remembered fondly by her many friends, who with Bill and her, would travel to warm places, play a competitive round of Aggravation and square dancing.
Even with her recent health diagnosis, she was a strong woman who fought until the very end. She will be dearly missed by all of those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister-in-law: Laurel Radke, brother-in-law: Raymond Rabehl, and brother-in-law: John Burrs.
She is survived by her daughters: Sharon (Rich) Hary of Monticello, MN; Bryna (Trent) Ericksen of Liberty, MO; and Teresa (Mike) Emanuel of Smithville, MO; grandchildren: Kirra (Charlie), Codi, Brandon, Lauren, Maegan, and Katie; great-grandchildren, John, Grace, and William; sister: Dixie Rabehl of Wabasha, MN; brother: Butch Radke of Kansas City, KS; sister: Mary Pierson of Lamar, MO, and brother: Danny (Connie) Radke of Oronoco, MN; sister-in-law: Sue Burrs of Corwith, IA; and brother-in-law: Jim (Hope) Ayers of Brooklyn Park, MN; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
