Nan L. Skidmore, 82, of Plattsburg, Missouri passed away, Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Nan was born January 11,1935 to Theron and Edna (Coble) Harrison, in Alton, Missouri.
After graduation from the Liberty High School, Nan married her husband, William G. ”Jack” Skidmore in 1952. As a young lady she always wanted to take care of the less fortunate children of the community. When the boys were old enough to go to school, her passion for children drove her to not only work in the cafeteria of the boy’s school, but to start working at a day care, and the church nursery on Sundays. Nan had two true loves, one being for her husband of 56 years, and also her love for God. Her faith and the bible were her source and strength in her everyday life. Nan is also remembered for her good cooking and no matter the occasion, everyone was to be fed.
Nan was preceded in death by both parents, her husband William “Jack”, and two sisters, Bonnie Harrison, and Barbara Cook.
She is survived by her three sons Bill (Jane) Skidmore of Liberty, MO, Kris (Liz) Skidmore of Kearney, MO, and Barry (Tracy) Skidmore of Lawson, MO, eight Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
