Melvin "Pete" Keith Shingleton

Melvin Keith "Pete" Shingleton, Kansas City North, passed away July 29 at the age of 94 after a long illness. Melvin was born February 22, 1929 in Kansas City, Kansas to William and Mayme Shingleton. In 1948, he married Kathryn Jean Hulver in Excelsior Springs, MO. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Maxine Scott and Ruth Robbins; and 3 brothers, Gale, Owen, and James Shingleton. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Kathryn Jean Shingleton, 92; son, Gary Wayne Shingleton, 74, both of the home; son, Keith Douglas Shingleton, 69, and his wife Rose Mary (Perez) Shingleton, 78, Gladstone, MO; granddaughter, Melissa Kaye Shingleton, 45, Casa Grande, AZ; grandson, Kevin Nathaniel Shingleton, 41, Kansas City North; great-grandson, A.J. Shingleton-Willis, 3, Casa Grande, AZ; and 24 wonderful nieces and nephews. There will be no services.
