Max Filbeck, 84, of Kansas City, Mo passed away April 29, 2012 at St. Luke's Northland Hospital from heart disease. Memorial services are 10:00 am Friday May 4th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation preceding services 9:00 - 10:00 am. Inurnment will be in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Clay County Christian Church, 1200 B Hwy, Liberty, Mo 64068. Max was born November 1, 1927 in Crane, Mo. He often claimed "I'm a retired phoneman and farmer". He served Southwestern Bell Telephone for over 30 years. He enjoyed the last 8 years of his retirement with his wife Deanna. Max was a founding member of Southside Christian Church and had been actively involved with Westridge, Northside and Clay County Chrstian Churches. He also supported Christian Mission to the Orient, Show Me Christian Youth Home and Youth Camp. He coached sports and volunteered at Boy Scouts Troop 469. His house was always open to a friend, family and stranger. Max supported many conservative causes, not because he liked them, but because they worked. He lived his life grateful to God for what Jesus did on the cross. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, his 1st wife of 48 years, Wanda Gene and 2 infant sons. Survivors include his wife Deanna, his 6 children, Jeannine, Jeff, Melissa, Ron, Tony, Jenna, and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
