Mary E. Stagg

Mary E. Stagg of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully with her family at her side and went home to be with the Lord on May 3^rd, 2024. Mary was born Algee Maureen Dailey on September 8, 1929, and adopted by John C. Stagg and Victoria (Brennan) Stagg.

Mary was a devoted mother above all else and found joy in dedicating her love and time to her children and grandchildren whom she adored.

Mary, a woman of faith, found solace and strength in her relationship and walk with Jesus Christ her Lord and savior. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. As an avid reader she found endless delight in the pages of books. She also loved to sew, and as a young mother made clothes for her small children. Later in life she began to make quilts and made a quilt for each of her kids as well as her grandchildren so each would have something made by her own hands. Nature also held a special place in Mary’s heart, she particularly enjoyed birds and butterflies whose beauty and grace she admired.  She was a hard-working dedicated mail carrier in the rural areas of Kansas City for 10 years.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband: John C. Stagg, her son: John C. Stagg III, and her granddaughter: Tamara Stagg.  

She is survived by 4 of her children: Paul W. Stagg (Barbara Stagg), Linda Thompson, (Raymond Thompson), Josef M. Stagg, and Kimberly Stagg.  Along with 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; as well as many other dear family members and close friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation to honor Mary’s life will be held on May the 18, 2024 at Terrace Park Funeral Home in the Lakeside chapel at 10:00 am with a graveside service to follow, at 11:00 also inside the Lakeside chapel. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
