Mary Rhodes

Mary Ellen Rhodes, 80, of Rayville, MO passed away on November 29, 2018.

Mary was the youngest of 11 children born to Orville and Nola Murray on February 19, 1938  in Carrollton, MO. She spent her younger years growing up in Tina, MO. She married Gene Rhodes on February 23, 1973 and the two worked together for 30+ years at the estate of David Stickelber. Mary and Gene, along with their children would spend nearly every weekend visiting friends and family in Joplin, MO. Mary was incredibly talented and will be remembered for her amazing potato salad, baked beans, fudge, and the quilts that she would give her family members every year for Christmas. She also loved playing card games and puzzles and was very competitive.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; children, John (Teresa) Gilmer, Janet Gilmer, Pam Hutchins, Lynn Campbell and Nancy Price; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Carl Murray.

Services will be held on December 5, 2018 at the Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, with visitation beginning at 11am and funeral at 12pm, followed by the burial and reception.
