Mary "Theresa" Moore, 54, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away at home February 20, 2010. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday February 25th at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland Ave, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call on 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday February 24th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO. Entombment in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.Theresa was born Mary Theresa Johannes on April 27, 1955 in Independence, Kansas. She is survived by her husband, Ed, daughter, Rachel, of the home, son, Greg (Kim), grandson, Tristan, and stepson, David Bendett, all of Corpus Christi, TX. She is also survived by by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Mary Johannes, siblings, Julie Arthur (Larry), Sara Brown (Scott), Barbara Nemechek, Joseph Johannes, Jr, (Cindy), Martha Johannes, Chris Johannes (Gay), Margie Cangelosi (Sam), Phil Johannes (Laura), along with many loving nieces and nephews. Theresa graduated from Winnetonka High School, in 1973, and three years later from UMKC with a degree in mathematics. Her entire career of 21 years was spent at Airborne Express where she rose to the rank of District Field Service Manager by the time she was 28. She was an extremely good judge of business talent and many people got their start through her mentorship. She retired in 1997 to raise her family and reveled in the joy of nurturing and caring for them. Theresa will be remembered for her undefeated spirit and her enthusiasm for life.
