Mary Knudson

Mary Louise Knudson, 82, of Kansas City passed away October 24, 2016. She was born Dec. 5, 1933 in St. Joseph to the late Lester and Wahnita (Viets) Daniels.
Mary Lou grew up in the St. Joseph area where she met Jerry Knudson, whom she later married. During their marriage, Mary Lou and Jerry were stationed at various bases including: San Diego Naval Base, Calif.; Pensacola Naval Base, Fla.; Houston Space Center, Texas and Norfolk Naval Base, Va. After Jerry retired from the Navy, the couple settled in Kansas City, where Mary Lou worked and then retired from Kmart.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Clifford R. Graves; her husband, Jerry W. Knudson, a Navy veteran of Korea and Vietnam and her son, Larry D.W. Knudson, an Army veteran.
Survivors include cousins: David Viets and wife, Patricia, Waldorf, Maryland; Betty Goad, Watson, Missouri; Phillip Viets and wife, Linda, Watson, Missouri; Charles Viets and wife, Rebecca, Tarkio, Missouri and numerous second cousins.
Graveside services will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11 AM in St. Joseph Memorial Park, 5005 Frederick Ave, St Joseph, MO 64506. Online condolences may be left at www.terraceparkfh.com.
