Mary Catherine Hurt, 57, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. She was born on March 17, 1958, to Gerald J. and Jule V. Theobald. She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Hurt; her mother, Jule; her brother, Rick Theobald; five children: Anna Hurt, David Hurt, Amy Place, Lynn Foreman, and Kimberly Hurt; and eight grandchildren: Nicolas Fink, Nathan Staatz, Ethan Place, Lucille Place, Abigail Place, Joseph Foreman III, Willow Foreman, and James Foreman. She was preceded in death by her father.
Mary attended Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She also attended Southwest Missouri State University. She and her husband were active members at Lenexa Christian Center. Mary was a devout believer, who loved the Lord Jesus and sought Him with her whole heart. She also encouraged her children and others to do the same. She was a homemaker; enjoyed sewing, gardening, and walking in the outdoors and enjoying wildlife. She spent much of her free time helping others, especially the elderly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015, from 10 AM until time of service at 11:30 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO, with Pastor Todd Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy; Kansas City, MO 64114.
