Mary Catherine “Kay” Campbell, 93, of Gladstone, MO passed away July 3rd, 2014 at Wellsville Retirement Community. She was born August 20, 1920 in Frontenac, KS to Francis Leo and Catherine Costello. She attended nursing school and was a nurse during WWII; however, she was best remembered for being a homemaker and lovingly raised four children. Her hobbies included reading and bird watching. She had a deep faith in the Catholic Church, and was the St. Charles School Librarian for 25 years and the St. Charles Sacristan for about 30 years and was lovingly referred to as “the Bishop” amongst her church family. She was preceded in death by Paul Campbell, who passed January 18, 1984; son, David Campbell; and brothers, Francis and Joe Costello. She is survived by children, Paula Campbell, Kathy Saunders (Jim), Susy Campbell and granddaughter, Jessica Campbell and many other relatives. A Wake service, 6-8pm, Monday, July 7th at St. Charles Borromeo Parish. A Mass service, 9am, Tuesday, July 8th at St. Charles Borromeo Parish with burial to follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to St. Charles Borromeo Parish or Wayside Waifs.
