Mary Ann Peterson

Mary Shirley Ann Peterson, 79, passed away January 5, 2011 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, Missouri. Shirley was born September 17, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas to Clarence and Mary Pettit Carpenter. She married Charley John Peterson on March 28, 1951 in Olathe, Kansas and lived most of her life in the Platte County area. She was a loving wife and mother who was very active in her children's lives through Scouting, PTA and attending their ballgames. She loved square dancing and ceramics.Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charley and is survived by her children, Kathy Barton and husband, Charles, Charley Peterson, Jr., Steve Peterson and wife, Jeannice, Vicky Mumford and husband, Bill and Sue Holeman and husband, Hilbert; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Visitation is 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Second Creek Cemetery in Kansas City. Memorials in Shirley's name may be made to the donor's choice.
