Marvin Kirk Jones was born on October 6th, 1945, in Amarillo Texas. He passed away on Dec 29th , 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. Marvin will be remembered as a generous, hardworking provider for his family. He graduated from North Kansas City High School. Marvin painted cars for a living, working for Ford and Lincoln Mercury for most of his career.
He loved sports and traveling to Colorado whenever he could. His favorite place was Estes Park, Colorado. Marvin loved the mountains and made it a point to take his family there each and every year. He enjoyed hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park and loved the town of Estes Park. Many a perfect day was spent sitting by Fall River.
In his youth Marvin played many sports. After he started his own family, he coached soccer and baseball each year. He loved watching the Chiefs and Royals. He passed his love of sports on to his son.
One of his other passions was antiquing. Marvin spent many years attending auctions and sales with his friends and family members. He ran booths at many antique malls where he sold antiques and baseball cards.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Beulah Jones, his first wife Carolyn of 19 years, and his second wife Kay of 18 years.
Marvin is survived by his son Chad Jones (Katie Jones), granddaughter Halle Jones and grandson Cameron Jones.
