Mark Alan Stephens, 52, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017. Mark was born November 14, 1965, to Charles and Patricia (Shaw) Stephens, in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated Park Hill in 1984. Mark got his pilot’s license at the age of 16 and worked for TWA as a mechanic. He served for more than 25 years with the Platte County Sherriff’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office before retiring recently. On October 15, 2016 he married Karen Sweeney. Mark’s spent most of his free time fishing.
Mark is preceded in death by his sibling Carla Stephens.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, step daughters, Conner and Kendall, both parents, Pat and Kelly, a sister, Marla (Dennis) Storey, of Platte City, MO, and a brother Mike (Heather) Stephens, of Newton, IA, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday November 20, 2017 from 4-6PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Private Inurnment at a later date.
