Marie Waldman

June 13, 1924 — February 1, 2014

MARIE JUNE WALDMAN, 89, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:15am, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, 2115 Maturana Drive, Liberty Missouri.  Funeral will be held March 7, 2014 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.   Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home, 2115 Maturana Drive Liberty Missouri or Liberty Hospital Hospice, 2525 Glen Hendren Drive Liberty, Missouri.  Marie was born June 13, 1924 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Jesse and Alice Hawthorne.  She graduated from Holy Angels High School and attended Marquette University.   She met and married husband Donald in 1947 and raised 4 children while living in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Kansas City Missouri Tampa Florida and Northridge California.  She and Donald retired in 1989 to Tampa where she enjoyed tutoring elementary children in reading, playing the piano, traveling and entertaining family and friends.  Marie was preceded in death by husband Donald, Brothers Harry, George, Robert and William Hawthorne, Sisters Genevieve Lukasavage, Rosemary Kirby and Margaret Claussen, son-in-law Tim Baggett and Grandson Parker Andrew Lester.  She is survived by daughter Donna Montgomery and husband Wes Montgomery of Littleton, Colorado, daughter, Diane Lester of Canyon Country, California, son Donald Waldman Jr., and wife Cindy of Kansas City, and MaryAnn Baggett of Palmdale, California.   Marie and Donald shared 9 grandchildren, Jeff, Kevin, Amy, Andy, Brett, Matthew, Derek, Kaitlyn and Josh, 21 great grandchildren, Savannah, Sierra, Raina, Aimee, Derick, Spencer, Kyle, Deven, Adam, Taylar, Sierra, Logan, Brooke, Rylie, Josh, Timmy, Gracie, Preslee, Zoey, Julianne and Miles.  Marie had a wonderful sense of humor and is leaving behind many friends and family whose lives she has touched throughout her life.  She will be greatly missed by us all.  Marie's family wants to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home and Liberty Hospital Hospice for allowing Marie to pass from this life to her resting place in heaven with love, compassion and dignity
