Marie Green

Funeral services for Marie E. Green a Kansas City resident, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.  The burial will be at the Sarcoxie Cemetery in Sarcoxie, Missouri at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 9, 2012.  Marie passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the North Kansas City Hospice Center in the company of longtime friend Joe Blackman.  Marie E. Green was born December 5, 1938 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Garnetta Reed.  She was united in marriage to Jackie E. Green on November 15, 1956 in Pierce City, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on July 23, 1990.  Marie was known for having a generous and kind heart and was loved by all who knew her.  She had a great love of animals and she had many friends, but above all things she loved and valued her family.  Marie defined herself by her endless generosity and unfailing commitment to welcome friends and family into her home without question and share her life and love with them.  She helped countless people that needed her love and a place to stay as they traveled their own journeys.  We are all better for having shared our lives and time with her.  She is survived by her two daughters, two granddaughters and three great grandchildren.  Marie will be deeply missed by family and friends alike, as we all try to live as she did, selfless and generous, kind and supportive, and willing to give more than we receive.  Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 N.W. 108th St; Kansas City, MO (816) 734-5500
