Margaret "Peggy" Ann Mosbacher

May 6, 1942 — December 2, 2024

Kansas City

Margaret "Peggy" Ann Mosbacher, born on May 6, 1942, passed away on December 2, 2024, leaving a legacy defined by her devotion to teaching, community service, and to her family.

Peggy began her esteemed career in education at Wirth Junior High in Cahokia, Illinois. She took her passion for teaching further to Antioch Junior High. Peggy’s indelible impact on the lives of her students culminated at Winnetonka, where she taught from 1980 until her retirement in 2004. Even after her formal retirement, Peggy’s commitment to education continued as she offered her time as a substitute teacher at Staley High School, stepping in to support teachers dealing with health challenges, maternity leaves, and those preparing for new life journeys.

A passionate master gardener, Peggy found immense joy and fulfillment in nurturing plants and sharing her love for gardening with others. She utilized her gardening skills in a volunteer capacity, working with offenders at the Western Missouri Correctional Center. Her dedication to her community extended beyond gardening; Peggy was a woman of faith deeply involved in her church, earning the affectionate nickname “Church Lady.” As a Eucharistic minister, she served her parish with dignity and grace and contributed her talents by cleaning and decorating the church during the holiday seasons. She often serviced as a Eucharistic minister at Redemptorist as well during Mass at the KC Irish Festival. Peggy was a graduate of the Kansas City Civilian Police Academy. After graduation, she served in a volunteer capacity at the Academy.

Peggy’s enthusiasm for life was evident in her various hobbies and interests. An avid seamstress, and pie baker, she embraced creativity in all forms while enjoying her favorite music by The Elders. Her warm spirit and selflessness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Marie Tucker; father and motherin-law: Orvel and Eugenia Mosbacher; as well as her former daughter in law: Tricia (Judd) Mosbacher. She is survived in love by her husband of 59 years: Paul Mosbacher; children: Mark (Lonnie) Mosbacher, and Sara (Bret) Cleveland; her grandson: Roman Judd Mosbacher; siblings: Ann Limestall, Joseph Tucker, and James Tucker; sister-in-law, Cindy Mosbacher; brothers-in-law, John Mosbacher and Clyde Limestall, nieces and nephews, and cousins, as well as all of her furry friends.
