Margaret Ellen Martens, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away July 23, 2016. She was born August 10th, 1934 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Harold and Clara Belle Boles(Mohler). Margaret grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa and worked for TWA in San Francisco as a teletype operator. Later after raising her children, she served as a bank teller at Landmark Bank in Kansas City. Margaret was a member of the Hosanna Lutheran Church in Liberty, MO. Margaret married Louis R. Martens on January 22nd, 1955 in San Diego, CA.
Margaret Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family and keeping in touch talking on the phone with friends, and extended family. She enjoyed traveling, and attending her grandchildrens sporting events, watching old westerns and movies, as well as working in the yard.
Margaret Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Clara Belle Boles (Mohler), and her grandson Joshua Martens.
Margaret Ellen is survived by her husband Louis R. Martens of 61 years ; children Mark (Cathy) W. Martens of Ames, Iowa; Michael (Rhonda) L. Martens of North Kansas City, MO; Deborah (Scott) Lindhorst of Kansas City, MO; Robert (Janelle) J. Martens of Weatherby Lake, MO; grandchildren Molly, Matthew, Austin, Nicholas, Grace, Erin, Amy, Jackson, and Luke.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 28th, 2016 at 1:30pm with a visitation at 12:00pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. (816) 734-5500.
