Madison "Madi" Martin

Madison Marie Martin, 25, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on October 26th, 2021. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 4th at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. A memorial service will be held the following day at Terrace Park on Friday, November 5th at 11:00 AM followed by a graveside service at the adjacent cemetery. “Madi” was born on May 29th, 1996 in Kansas City to Jennifer Frances Martin and Christopher Aaron Martin. As a young woman, she was active in the Girl Scouts of America during which she received the Silver Award, in Choir and in Color Guard at Oak Park High School, and as a member of the Heartland Singers choral group. Her bright and infectious spirit brought joy to everyone she met, and her care and compassion for others touched many lives. Madison loved working with children, and as a natural caregiver she was drawn to jobs in daycare and pediatrics where she brought cheer to many little ones.

Afflicted with Von Willebrand Disease, a blood disorder, Madi faced many health struggles throughout her life, but she was determined to experience all that she could despite the challenges. She was often the organizer of trips for family and friends, loved traveling to new places, and never stopped making plans for the future. As a devoted Christian, a favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13— “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but the strength she found in God serves as a reminder that He never places upon us a burden that we cannot bear.

Madison was preceded in death by her grandfather, Kenneth McCormick, her grandmother, Frances McCormick, her uncle Jimmie Earl Martin, and her grandfather, Jimmie Lee Martin. She is survived by her parents, Christopher and Jennifer Martin, her grandmother Sue Martin, her grandmother, Shirley Marsh, her grandfather, Don Marsh, her uncle, Chris Marsh, her aunt, Cynthia Martin, her sisters, Cierra Martin, Shelby Martin, and Nora Martin, and by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
