Lois L. Vander Stel, 86, passed away on July 8, 2024.

Lois was born on November 1, 1937 in Cranford, New Jersey to Charles and Catherine Lear. She married Cornelis Vander Stel in 1958, and from this union, they were blessed with three children. Lois's meticulous and organized nature made her an exceptional legal secretary, a profession she excelled in while working for various law firms. In her spare time she enjoyed baking, sewing/crocheting, spending time tending to her flower garden. In 1994, Lois and Cornelis relocated to the Kansas City area. They became devoted members of Northland Cathedral Church, where Lois actively participated in various church activities. She also became an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, which she watched intently along with watching her favorite golfer, Tiger Woods.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Cornelis Vander Stel; and brother, Richard Lear. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Greg (Paula) Vander Stel, Christine (David) Sell and David (Whitney) Vander Stel; grandchildren, Christy (Heinz) Liebert, Hayley (Joshua) Buss, Luke Vander Stel and Kate Vander Stel; great grandchildren, Asher, Elias and Jude Buss, and Kate and Caleb Liebert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery - Lakeside Chapel on Thursday, July 11th, with visitation beginning at 10am, followed by the funeral service at 11am, and burial. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Northland Cathedral Church.
