Lois Rider

Lois Darlene Rider, 91, passed away on July 9, 2020.  Lois was born in Amboy, Illinois on September 11, 1928, to Ernest Jacob and Ruby Opal (VanNatta) Miller.  She was the second oldest of seven children and is survived by two of her brothers, Ernest Jacob Jr. and David Lawrence Miller.  Lois grew up in the Dixon, Amboy and Lee Center areas of Illinois and then moved to Arkansas with her parents to run a restaurant.  It was there she met and then married Ernest Vincent (E.V.) Rider on 02/28/1949.  They were married 60 years before Ernest’s death in March of 2009.  Lois will be greatly missed by their children, James Rider (Judy), Jeffrey Rider (Dianne), Nancy Hill, and Peggy Mahnken (Bill), their 7 grandchildren (Jared, Jordan, Adam, Ashley, Allison, Alisha and Will) and 6 great-grandchildren.

Lois will always be remembered for her devotion and great love of her family and her delicious pies.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Terrace Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO with a viewing at 1:30 pm immediately followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm.
