Lloyd A. Stevens, 87, of Kansas City, MO passed away May 22, 2017. Lloyd was born September 24, 1924 in Pleasant Hill, MO and Kansas City has been his home for over 80 years.
Lloyd retired from the Kansas City Fire Department and was a member of Local 42 International Association of Fire Fighters for over 50 years.
He had over 28 years in the United States Marine Corps, regular and reserves. Lloyd was a Master Gunnery Sergeant when he retired. He also served a Past Commander of Simpson-Hoggart Post 329 American Legion and Past Commander of the Department of Missouri Marine Corps League.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Florence; son, James Stevens and grandson, Jacob Stevens.
Those left to cherish his memory include his 2 children, Rebecca (Bradley) Jones, Allen (Dolly) Stevens; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6-8 PM with services Thursday, May 25, at 10 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, KCMO 64155. Burial with military honors in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Online condolences at www.terraceparkfuneral.com.
