Lloyd "Rex" Harbison, born on March 27, 1932, in Tuscumbia, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024. A devoted family man and a stalwart member of his community, Rex leaves behind a legacy defined by hard work and generosity. Rex had a diverse and industrious career. He began his professional journey owning a Conoco Station and being a builder. Rex became a successful entrepreneur, owning Quality Plaza Shopping Plaza and Quality General Contracting, managing numerous other properties throughout his career. His steadfast work ethic and business acumen earned him the respect of his colleagues and business associates
Rex was also a proud Navy veteran, having served his country honorably. His experiences shaped him into the giving man he was, impacting many lives through both his professional endeavors and personal interactions. He possessed a genuinely kind spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Rex and his loving wife Thelma spent many years together, sharing a great love. Many cherished memories were made and will forever be treasured.
Beyond his impressive career, Rex was passionate about hobbies that brought him joy and excitement. In his younger years, he was a National Champion Go Kart Racer, showcasing his competitive nature. His passion was playing golf, a sport that allowed him to connect with nature and cherish time spent with friends and family.
As we remember Rex Harbison, we reflect on the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and respect. He cherished his relationships and was deeply respected by all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared his journey.
He is survived by his loving wife Thelma Harbison, Kenneth (Angel) Harbison, Bob (Kim) Harbison, Randy (Jeanie) Harbison, Mark (Kim) Allen. As well as many other nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rex is proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Wilma Harbison, his brothers Bob Harbison, and Harley Harbison.
Visitation services will be held on November 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. With a graveside following. Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
