Linda Lee Gash (m. Thompson) of Parkville, Missouri, passed away December 26, 2020, at home surrounded by family. Linda was born March 21, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. Linda is preceded in death by her mother Clarabelle Thompson, and her father Tommy Thompson. Linda is survived by her husband Wayne Gash; her son Chris Gash (Rachel); her grandson Jasper Gash; her sister Ellen Stewart (Russell); her niece Michelle Jeffries (Scott); her nephew Russ Stewart (Chassity); and four great nieces Elliott, Emmrie, Olivia, Evyn.
Linda and Wayne were married for 51 wonderful years. Linda was a proud wife, mother and grandmother. Linda enjoyed her family and caring for those close to her. Linda was incredibly close to her sister Ellen. Linda was a good student and graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1965. Linda and Wayne were married in 1969 at First Christian Church of North Kansas City. Linda was a tenured and valued employee at Farmland Industries until 1990. After Linda’s early retirement she devoted her time exclusively to her home and raising her son. More than anything, Linda enjoyed being a mother. Losing her mother and father at a young age, Linda cherished time spent with family and prioritized those relationships. Linda had several close friends and neighbors that she genuinely cared for and looked after.
In 2016, Linda was happy to see Chris marry and was overjoyed to dance with him at his wedding. In 2019, Linda eagerly welcomed her grandson Jasper. She was over-the-moon to become a grandmother and slid into her new role with ease. Jasper was adored and cherished by Linda. Their bond was special and unique. Linda loved Jasper fiercely, as only a grandmother could.
