LILLIAN BICKNELL VAUGHN
Born Jan. 19th, 1924 in Topeka, Kansas, the eldest of five children, to Clyde H. and Helen (House) Bicknell, Sr. Lillian died Jan. 2nd, 2015 at New Mark Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri at age 90. She had been a resident of Kansas City the last 12 years, previously living in Winchester, Yates Center and Topeka, Kansas. Lillian wed Royce C. Vaughn on Feb. 25th, 1944 and they were married 39 years before his death in 1983. Lillian also spent 14 wonderful years with companion Harold Lofquist before his death in 2000. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School class of 1942. In 1987 at age 63 she graduated from Neosho Community College with a degree in Business Administration. Lillian became an artist and created many acrylic and oil paintings. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Royce, sister Doris (Thompson) Stockebrand, brother Clyde H. Bicknell, Jr. and companion Harold Lofquist. She is survived by daughter Marcia (Bill) Dye, son Nathan Vaughn (Mark Nave),
step-son Duane (Julie) Lofquist, sister Laura Alexander, brother Edward (LaDonna) Bicknell,
sister-in-law Geraldine Bicknell, brother-in-law Orville Stockebrand, and ten nieces and nephews.
Visitation 5-7 PM Tuesday Jan. 6th, 2015 at Terrace Park Funeral Home (www.terraceparkfuneral.com), 801 NW 108th St. Kansas City, MO. 816-734-5500. Funeral 2:00 PM Wednesday Jan. 7th, 2015 also at Terrace Park Funeral Home. Burial and graveside services will be held at the Mayetta Cemetery, Mayetta, KS (142nd Street West of Hwy 75) on Thursday Jan. 8th, 2015 at 2:00 PM. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the home of Edward Bicknell in Auburn, KS. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to: VFW, DAV, or NorthCare Hospice.
