Lillian Louise Norris Hurst, 80, died on Oct. 6, 2015 in Denver, Co. She was born Dec. 8, 1934, in Plattsburg, Mo. to Moody and Alberta Grogan Norris and attended elementary schools in Mecca and Smithville, Mo. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1952. She worked for seven years at General Electric Co. in North Kansas City and in the late 1970s began working for the Circuit Court of Jackson County as a court clerk in Independence. Louise retired in 1995 after 17 years in that capacity. She was married in 1956 to Allan M. Hurst Jr.
In October 2014, Louise and Allan moved to Denver--to enjoy the state of Colorado, where they spent many vacations over the years. Louise is survived by her husband, Allan, two daughters—Jennifer Anne Pack, of Clinton, Mo. and Janice Kaye Kercheville and her husband Jim, of Aurora, Co.; two grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; sisters Faye Denney, Betty (Robert) Bullock, and Jo (Marvin) Preston, all of Smithville, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek Parkway) in Kansas City, Mo. on Friday, Oct. 23, from 1 - 2 pm, followed by a brief memorial service at 2 pm. Cremation and private placement. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital Foundation in Kansas City. Online condolences may be left at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
