Leslie Beigel

Leslie (Buzz) Joseph Beigel of Smithville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 at the age of 92.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (nee:  Harms) of Onawa Iowa.  He was the son of Clifford Beigel and Dorothy (nee:  Chapman) of Onawa Iowa.  He was the father of Cindy (Lee) Hunold, Larry (Vickie) Beigel, Wesley (Lisa) Beigel, and Christina (Lee) Roberts.  He was the grandfather of Nathaniel (Angie) Hunold, Christian Hunold, Rachel Hunold, Laura Ledet, Jessica (Zach) Mapes, Benjamin Beigel, Natalie Roberts, and Nicholas Roberts.  He was the great grandfather of Teegan Hunold and Cozette Mapes.

Buzz proudly served in the US Navy during WW II on the USS Karnes and USS Houston.  He enlisted at the age of 16 and was a signalman third class.  He worked 30 years for the US Postal Service, was a successful part time farmer, and lived in Smithville for 69 years.  He also loved his family, country, community, and the American Legion Jim Nelson Post 58.

Buzz will be missed by his family and will be buried next to his devoted wife at Terrace Park Cemetery.  Donations to the Smithville United Methodist Church are suggested in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 12:30-2:30 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2:30 PM at Terrace Park Cemetery.
