Leonard Anthony Patrick, 81 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on July 23,2023.
Leonard was born on April 28, 1942, the second of three sons born to Joseph and Lillian Patrick. He spent the first eight years of his life in Staten Island, New York where he made cherished memories with the Italian side of his family. After his dad retired from the Army, the family relocated to Kansas City.
In 1964 Leonard met, and married Shirley DeLong on September 8, 1964, and from this marriage they were blessed with three sons. John, Chris and Dustin who were his heart, his love for them was unending.
Leonard was employed with Stone Container, in Liberty, Missouri for thirty-nine years.
Leonard enjoyed camping trips to Alley Springs with his family. These were special times for the family, where memories were made that will long be remembered. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, for him it was the thrill of the hunt. Finding that one car that would complete a set, or finding a limited addition. Leonard had many talents. He was a self taught guitar player, and through the years blessed many people with his playing and singing. He could draw great western scenes and could fix about anything.
Leonard loved the Lord. He never met a stranger, and you weren’t around him very long before he would share his faith. Leonard invited Jesus into his heart November 8, 1972. He served the Lord through the ministries at Glenwood Baptist Temple, now known as LifeBridge Baptist Church, He was a bus captain bringing kids to church every Sunday morning, He was a team member on a mission trip to the Rose Bud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Again using his talents and gifts to minister to those that needed to hear the "Good News" that Jesus loves them.
Leonard was a FAITHFUL man.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Joe. He will be loved forever by his wife, Shirley; children John, Christopher, and Dustin. His daughters-in-law, Debbie and Lisa. Grandsons Joshua, Justice, A.J. and Cody. Great grandson Tyler, and many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at LifeBridge Baptist Church, 3710 N Holmes, Kansas City, MO. 64116, on Saturday, July 29th, with visitation beginning at 10am, followed by funeral service at 11am. Burial at New Salem Cemetery.
