Leonard Vaughn

Leonard Allen Vaughn, 80, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Kansas City. Al was born February 14, 1937, to Leonard and Louise (Conklin) Vaughn, in Kansas City, Missouri. He quit school to join the Navy. He married Clara Baker August 19, 1965. As a civilian he worked as a security guard for several banks and the VFW. He enjoyed many hobbies working with his hands like painting and tooling leather. Al was a member of the East Gate Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his brother Donald Vaughn.
Al is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cecil (Barbara) Omstead of Kearney, MO, and Cynthia Patterson of Desoto, TX.
Graveside services will be Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery.
