Leah Ernestine McILvain, 96, passed away on December 6, 2022.
Leah was born on April 9, 1926 in Madison, Kansas to Ernest and Eva Rickabaugh. She married Kenneth McILvain on June 1, 1947 and from this marriage they had three children. Leah worked for 20+ as an executive secretary for TWA - primarily in the overhaul base. Affectionately known as “the first to arrive and the last to leave”, Leah was always thinking of others and spent much of her free time giving back to her community, whether that be leading a Girl Scout troop, keeping score during T-ball season, or volunteering through her church to help with the blood drive, food pantry and the Quilting Circle. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader and also had many longtime friends, Jane Gallagher, Pat McAllister, Edward Davidson and “The Hemple Street” families. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Debra L. McILvain, Kevin L. (Lisa) McILvain, and Karen A. (Donald) Ronne; grandchildren, Chrisjen L. McILvain, Crystal Schuetz, and Allie McILvain; great grandchildren, Levi McILvain, Kimber Jo McILvain, Aaliyah McILvain, and Lane McILvain. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Kenneth R. McILvain; and siblings, David Rickabaugh, Dean Hubbard, Dwight Rickabaugh, Thomas Rickabaugh, and James Rickabaugh.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 7th with visitation beginning at 11am, followed by the funeral service at 12pm. Burial will take place following the services at Terrace Park Cemetery, with a luncheon afterwards at the funeral home.
