Lawrence Edmond McIntire, 87, of Gladstone, MO, passed away on, January 17th, 2017 at 8:38 a.m. Lawrence was born in Fairmount, MO, on September 7th, 1929, to Merle and Charlie McIntire. Lawrence married Barbara A. Bain on April 11th, 1949. Lawrence worked for Ross Manufacturing for 32 years as ‘The Boss’ until he retired. He volunteered his time to coach baseball for the North Kansas City league and was an umpire for the Clay-Platte league. He spent
his last few years with his best friend, his dog named Buddy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McIntire of Kansas City; son, Joseph Wayne McIntire; father-in-law, E. Virgil Bain; mother-in-law, Eva Bain; sister, Jean Cole; brother, John McIntire; nephew, Rick McIntire; brother-in-law, Ross Cole; nephew, Rex Cole; and great niece, Lexi Cole.
He is survived by son, Larry McIntire and wife Shari of Elizabeth, CO; son, Terry McIntire and wife Linda of Kansas City, MO; son, Mike McIntire and wife Pam of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Sheri McIntire of Kansas City, MO; sister, Vera Lightfoot; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21st, 2017, at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery with funeral services following at 11 a.m.
